PS5 vs. Xbox Series X: Reddit Users Comments

I’d say the Series X is a better console if you wanna save money. The ps5 exclusives are great but that game pass is a budget gamers wet dream. – Keith_Wallace

All depends on what you want to play. I have both. Gamepass is certainly great, but most of the games are filler type stuff that I personally wouldn’t play. Plus all the elite games imo are on ps. GoT, HZD, TLOU, Spider-Man, rachet and clank. If you prefer online FPS and trying a lot of different stuff, Xbox. If you want quality and story for Rpg type games ps5. There’s not much on Xbox you can’t play on ps at the moment. – RainbowEggplanter

The PS5 exclusives will probably be better in the long run, and if you’re interested in game pass maybe a Series S is a very good deal – notjosemanuel

I would buy a Series S, frankly. Usually you’re limited by your TV in the frames/resolutions you can push anyway. I don’t have any comment on whether 2 consoles and no PC is worth it, but that’s my two cents if you do decide to go down that route. – Timmy-my-boy

Consoles are only as good as their games. As much as I enjoy PS exclusives for me apart from God of War sometime next year there isn’t anything else interesting. Gamepass is good especially if you consider many games will be available day one as longest you pay $5-7 a month. For at least now Series X is better choice. But if you invested big money in digital PSN games it would be a waste now throw that away. But you never know maybe PS5 will have gamepass equivalent one day. – pfury

Objectively speaking the Xbox is the stronger console, and it cost the same amount of money. Thus it is a better value. All third party games going forward will be slightly better on the Xbox. For instance, the new Hitman runs at a smooth for on both, but runs at 1800p on PS5 and full 2160 on the Xbox. It’s basically the opposite of last generation The base PS4 was better and cheaper then the Xbox one, and a good number of games like Metal Gear Solid ran only at 900p on the xbox, but ran at full 1080p on the PS4. The PS4 rightfully dominated the previous generation. This generation the tables have turned and the Xbox is better console. – House-Ordos

Unpopular take on here but I recently traded my Ps5 for an XSX for the reason you mentioned, Ps5 exclusive have jumped like $30 in Australia, $124 RRP with $98 being considered ‘sale’ price.

I wasn’t prepared for that after paying $65 odd on PS4.

No doubt Ps5 has the bangers and not doubting their worth but gamepass is what I’m investing in this gen, XSX is just the vessel to get there – Adamantium_au
